About a week ago, we held our 13th Annual SOL Gala. With the help of our dedicated volunteers (some not pictured here), we were able to meet our goal of raising $50,000 in less than 10 minutes. All donations from the event will be used to support the children in Pakistan to help get them one step closer to their educational goals and bringing their family out of poverty. This cause is so dear to all of us at SOL, but none of this would have been possible without our giving donors and hard working volunteers. Thank you to all those who came to support our mission!

Located in Battal, near Mansehra, Pakistan, the Unity Campus secondary school was created to provide our children a path towards higher education. The Unity Campus currently serves over 115 students who are taught essential subjects such as English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Art, among others. The school is fully equipped with playgrounds, fully stocked libraries, and a state of the art computer lab in addition to essential services such as running water and electricity. Seeds of Learning recognizes that without providing a complete, end to end pathway for our children to achieve higher education, true change can not be brought about.
Just like the Campus of Hope, our children at the Unity Campus are taught by professionally trained teachers who, thanks to our partnership with The Citizens Foundation undergo 120 hours of pre-service training. Additionally, all teachers receive 80 hours of professional development every year. Seeds of Learning and The Citizens Foundation both believe in empowering women, and employ an all female teacher workforce. As in all of our schools, we have worked hard to achieve a fifty percent – fifty percent girl-to-boy student ratio.
The Unity Campus is a huge achievement: secondary education in an area where primary schooling is the exception, not the rule. This dream could not have become a reality without the help of the Houston and Washington D.C. TCF chapters. We are proud to work hand in hand with Houston and Washington D.C. in helping to transform lives through education.
