"One has to be patient to witness the full scale of the impact of education."
We are steadfast and patient in our work to better lives through education because education is the only path out of hopefulness for so many. We wanted to re-share this article about our TCF Alumni. Education has not only changed their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.

Seventeen-year-old Haris Suleman was a rising senior at Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Indiana. The youngest of three, Haris planned to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming an Engineer, and hoped to attend either Purdue University or University of Texas at Austin in the Fall of 2015. His career choice wasn’t the only way Haris followed in his dad’s footsteps. Haris began learning to fly in the summer of 2013. When Babar began to plan his flight around the world, he asked Haris if he would like to join him. A summer of seeing the world and no chores? Haris said yes! Haris earned his pilot’s license and instrument rating in June of 2014. Had they completed their mission, Haris would have been the youngest to ever fly around the world in a single-engine plane.
Despite leaving their journey incomplete, their cause and legacy lives on through their accomplishments during their journey, as well as projects like this scholarship in their memory. Each year, students from Haris’ graduating class at Plainfield High School will receive the Haris Suleman Memorial Scholarship on May 27, 2015. The scholarship will be awarded to students who exemplify characteristics that Haris embodied. Although Haris was smart and athletic, what he was most known for was his kind soul and passion for helping others. This scholarship is not awarded solely on academic merit, athletic prowess or involvement in extra-curricular activities.
